Dear friends,
I am back in Brazil after 2 months spent in India with intensive learning, knowledge and hard work.
Many of you helped me with the project to build a WC at the children's school were I was doing
voluntary work. The works are almost finished after the 'fuck-up' that happened there, I already mentioned
previously on my blog and on Face. We had to pay a bribe to the police and moved on. One of those
things, we know pretty well, happen in poor countries.
In parallel with the current project, I have another one that I dove straight in and hope that you all will help me again.
On the same village, we would like to open an outpatients clinic for helping poor people in the region who cannot afford
to travel to the nearest hospital, which is too far, no ambulance, utter poverty.
This local clinic will be of great help. A doctor will initially do a twice a week voluntary work. He will follow up closely,
patients with minor health problems, and direct with serious conditions to the nearest available hospital.
Besides money, we will also need basic hospital equipments to start up the clinic, nothing major. We want to go slowly,
step by step, we have a big dream however aware we need to go bit by bit. For first aid, such as stethoscope, blood pressure
monitor, thermometer, scissors, portable otoscope, throat and nose medical equipments. You probably know doctors who can donate some used ones, as long as they work perfectly.
I will return to India in October and we intend to start this project, likewise, fix windows and doors at the school. Roof fan
are needed in each room, to avoid people dying from asphyxiation. Extreme hot conditions can kill.
The school is completely unprotected, even donated books cannot be left there!
Well I will not carry on here, if you follow my blog, you know all about it.
In doubt, feel free to contact me.
Cheers!
